it was a BIG deal. The Flip was a big deal, because it was small and able to record HD very easily. I admit, I bought a HD video camera, not the Flip, about 3 years ago. Then...digital cameras were able to record HD video, on a regular point and shoot camera. Then...the revolution came with mobile phones being able to record 720p. At that point, who needed video cameras, or even digital cameras. Cisco, developer of the Flip, has decided to retire this camera, due to the abilities of mobile phones. Unfortunately, this means the demise of 550 jobs. RIP the Flip...it was a fun ride.
